Environments and micro environments of light

Trade fairs

Environments and micro environments of light The novelties that were presented at the 2009 edition of Euroluce in Milan created environments and micro-environments of light. Campanula designed by Andrea Branzi, and Lucio and Icselle bv Donegani and Lauda are traditional typologies of lamps, either wall lamps or suspended lamps, and which, thanks to their energy-saving bulbs, are adequate for any type of environment. Besides these traditional typologies, Donegani and Lauda also designed Diva and Eolo; both these lamps are part of a new generation of specialised objects that were designed in order to illuminate micro-environments of light and other performances as well. Of the products already in the catalogue, MultiPot and MultiBook are lamps fitted with a multiple socket, whose bodies conceal unsightly wires, and which can be used as wall pockets, ... Diva and Eolo are multifunctional, poly-sensorial and delicate lamps; with the former you can listen to music, and the latter diffuses room perfume and chromatic light. Lampion designed by Emmanuel Gallina is an archetypical lantern made of silicon; it can be used both indoors and outdoors. It is resistant, practical, and easy to use. This year Rotaliana presented a film produced by Cinevideo Studio Milan at its stand, which also staged environments and micro environments of light. The images and comments of the movie tell the story of the company from 2002 to the present day, and explain how it renewed its organisation and distribution, as well as its lamp production. It shows how fast it all happened, and describes the lamps' aesthetics and technical innovation. With Multipot, which was first presented in 2005, Rotaliana identified a new typology of products for its catalogue. Multipot is fitted with a multiple socket and an LED light (in the upper part of the body); the lamp has the shape of a vase, which contains and conceals unsightly wires. This object represents Rotaliana's very first attempt to integrate other performances in a lamp. Looking for new fields of application (lamps integrated with other performances) led to a brand new generation of lamps, to multifunctional and multi-sensorial lamps that create micro environments of light, and which provide new comfort conditions and new relational experiences.
